The following is but one example of how McAllister helped a customer reduce costs and lead-times.
Tyco had a complex oxygen service valve component that was being machined from solid stock. As demand increased, Tyco needed to be able to procure the component for less and receive them faster.
 McAllister Tool and Machine leveraged its’ manufacturing expertise to perform a number of “what if” scenarios utilizing various manufacturing processes keeping in mind the buyer’s objectives and making sure not to compromise the quality of the part.
McAllister determined that the most efficient method was to design a custom extrusion that could be cut in the pieces and the detailed features machined. The outcome was a more consistent part whose production cost was reduced by 25% with a decrease in lead-time.
Tyco and McAllister have continued their partnership and McAllister has now been manufacturing this part for the past three years at a six-sigma level.
